The historical boathouse needs your help.

Decades of exposure to sun, wind, rain and snow have caused several structural issues that need repair to enable continued use of this beautiful historic boathouse.

  • Roof Beam

The large load bearing beam on the NE corner of the boathouse has significant rot, extending back into the building. This beam needs to be replaced, and other beams may also need to be replaced and properly capped with metal flashing. Preliminary Cost Estimate: $50,000

  • Concrete Foundation

The concrete foundation is severely weathered and eroded, exposing embedded metal supports. A structural engineer hired by LCYC in 2024 pointed out repairs are needed. Preliminary Cost Estimate: $75,000-$100,0000.

  • Windowsills Trim, Stairway Supports and Fascia, Rafters and Gutters

Similar to the roof beams, the stairway supports have areas of rot and need to be replaced and properly capped. Windows have rotting sills and trim and need to be repaired prior to being stained. The same issue exists with certain areas of fascia and rafters. Gutters also need to be replaced. Preliminary cost estimate $85,000.
